Network Cables
Business September 26th, 2008If you’re using more than 2 computers in one area and would like to them together, then you will need Network Cables. It is the backbone that connects every network.
You will have the choice to select either using wireless connection or cabled network system to connect to the Internet. For the purpose of this article, I will assume that you opt for the cabled network system.
Setting up a new network in your home will require you to have a few types of Network Cables. One of the cables that you need will be the cat 5 or Ethernet cables. These cables comes in various length and you will need to make sure that you know the estimated distance so that you will not have to buy your Network Cables again.
Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) cables, fiber optic cables and coaxial cables are some of the cables that are still being used today. UTP cables are probably the most popular for schools and large sized companies, simply because it transfers data at 100mbps. As for fiber optic cables, it is usually used when it involves longer distance and when you need to send larger file sizes through the network.
